LET'S TALK TOGETHER
A Let’s Talk Together setting is a lively place and one where you will see four key things happening.
The interactions between adults and children in a Let’s Talk Together setting are of a high quality. Practitioners are highly skilled in using positive interaction strategies, both 1:1 and in differentiated small groups, to maximise opportunities for developing communication when playing and talking with children in their care. Children are able to freely communicate their thoughts and ideas and feel listened to and valued.
Practitioners are skilled in using positive interaction strategies; they are able to monitor and track the children effectively and make early identifications of any children who seem to be finding communication difficult, and make links with other professionals where necessary.
The space and resources both indoors and out will have been considered to maximise opportunities for children to seek out and have positive interactions, both with adults and with each other.
A Let’s Talk Together setting will be continually developing a positive partnership with parents. It will strive to engage them with the messages of early language development and maximise any opportunities they have for sharing information about their child.
